Areas of Expertise: Public policy, government affairs, public relations, campaigns, industry branding and crisis communication.
Personal Interests: Outdoors, camping, hunting and competitive rifle shooting. Member of Sherwood Police Advisory Board, as well as several sporting, conservation and shooting sports organizations.
In 2024, Pac/West Resources, owned by Chris and Tina West, entered into an agreement with Pac/West Communications to transition the consulting business to new ownership. Chris manages and implements large projects and election campaigns for Pac/West’s clients. He handles government affairs, public affairs, media relations, marketing, and crisis communications, and is an expert at building coalitions, working collaboratively, and finding implementable solutions. Chris assists clients with local and state permitting and regulatory compliance issues. He works as an advocate at the federal, state, and local levels for a variety of businesses and trade organizations.
Chris managed strategic communications for a mining company, a vector control district, a private university, and previously for a labor/management partnership and a state fish and wildlife agency. He has perfected his crisis communication and media relations skills at ground zero for some of the region’s biggest environmental challenges, but he would rather generate earned media in coordination with grassroots activities and targeted advertising.
Prior to joining Pac/West, Chris served as vice president for two prominent non-profit business associations, the American Forest Resource Council and Northwest Forestry Association, which represent forest product manufacturers and forest landowners in the Western United States. In addition to his association experience, Chris has worked for the federal government and private industry and has taught at the college and university levels.
Chris has a B.S. in Forestry and a M.F. in fish, wildlife, and forest management from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Registered Professional Forester in the State of California (RPF #2320).
